French door refrigerators are designed to fit flush against your kitchen counters. This gives an elegant, stylish appearance. This slim design also conserves space in the freezer.
Before purchasing, make sure to check the exact dimensions to ensure it's appropriate for your home, suggests Hernandez. You'll want to ensure there's room for ventilation on all sides and that the doors open completely without hitting cabinets or blocking the hallway.
french door fridge freezer is a top refrigerator manufacturer with been known for its high-quality appliances. Their counter-depth French-door models are set flush with your countertop for an elegant design. The fridges are efficient and quiet, and they include a smart-home feature that lets you control it with your tablet or phone. The fridge also offers plenty of space for your leftovers and groceries. This model features an ice maker that makes fresh, clean ice in a matter of minutes. It's simple to use, too. The water and ice dispensers are located inside the fridge rather than on the front, so they don't obstruct the sleek design of the exterior. The dispensers can be used with any cold drink such as sports drinks and juice. The refrigerator is made of a durable stainless-steel that resists scratches. It's fingerprint-resistant, too. If you're worried about smudges appearing on your surfaces, you can use an item that cleans fingerprints without harsh chemicals.
This refrigerator is spacious with 20.5 cubic feet of interior space and includes Bosch's patented FarmFresh System with four cutting-edge freshness technology to keep veggies, fruits and leftovers in good condition for three times longer than normal. Its freezer temperatures are near perfect, too, never fluctuating less than a fraction of an inch from the ideal.
Although the Bosch refrigerator is pricier than the GE Appliances model, it comes with more features that make it worth the cost. It has a door-indoor storage area where you can store a small amount of food in a bin that can fit directly into the fridge's door and also comes with a drawer that can be converted to five temperature settings that can accommodate various types of drinks food items, snacks, meat and wine. The Bosch fridge comes with a smart home feature known as Home Connect which lets you control it remotely with your phone or tablet.
The only downsides to this fridge are the flimsy main fridge drawer and the difficult-to-use main door latch that is right in the middle. The fridge is a great option for kitchenettes as well as single households that require more space than a French door refrigerator can offer. And the stainless steel makes a stunning accent to any kitchen.
LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
LG counter-depth refrigerators provide plenty of storage in small footprints. They're also priced more affordably than many standard-depth French door refrigerators and eliminate the necessity for a separate, smaller under-counter freezer. The LG Smart Mirror InstaView counter-depth refrigerator (LMWC23626S) is no exception and offers the capacity of a standard refrigerator in a sleek, modern design that has an internal dispenser for easy access to water that is filtered.
This model's exterior showcases a fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish and a mirrored InstaView panel that adds to the modern look of the interior. The door bins offer plenty of space and the top shelf can be folded down to create a half-depth shelf that can hold taller items. The bottom of the refrigerator has a set of crisper drawers, and the deli drawer with its full width is ideal for meat or fresh produce.
A recessed ice maker can be found located on the back wall of the refrigerator. This helps to save space and makes it easier to store an additional bag of ice. The refrigerator has a door-cooling system that makes use of vents in the fridge and freezer doors to push cold air into the refrigerator. It helps prevent hot spots and helps keep temperatures more consistent throughout the refrigerator.
This LG refrigerator was a standout during our tests. It offers ample space to provide for a family, however, we found a few annoying flaws. First the freezer drawers do not remain at the temperature we'd like. The temperature of the middle drawer reached 41° during our maximum use test, which is enough to freeze ice cream and other frozen foods. The temperature in the rest of your freezer was at about 36 degrees.
Another issue is that the refrigerator doors have handles that are sunken on the inside and beneath which makes it difficult for shorter people to comfortably guide them closed. It may seem trivial however, we prefer front mounted handles on refrigerators, which make them more convenient to open and close.
The fridge is costly, but worth it for anyone looking to have a sleek look in their kitchen. We recommend this fridge to those looking to upgrade their current refrigerator, or for those who are building a brand new home and want an integrated design in the kitchen.
Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
The RF23M8090SG is Samsung's most recent and most elegant counter-depth French door refrigerator, priced at $4,200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also performed well in our cooling test, but we're not a fan of the gimmicky handles or the fragile crisper bins.
Bespoke is an option that makes the RF23M8090SG stand out. It lets you personalize your refrigerator with removable colored panels. There are 11 different colors that range from pastels to more bright colors. There are also four metallic finishes. These panels can be customized to include text or photos. This will make the fridge more personal and can be matched to your Rick Owens dress, Andy Warhol banana neon, or tie-dye Crocs.
You can even change the color of the fridge's LED lighting, which is pretty. The interior of the fridge is finished in a way which reduces smudges, and makes cleaning a breeze. The only real drawbacks of the RF23M8090SG is its crowded beverage center, as well as a little learning curve to open the door-indoor feature, which houses a water dispenser and the pitcher. You must feel for an opening on the side of the door that is halfway across, and when you do, it opens an additional door inside the fridge, which houses the docking station for pitchers, the water dispenser and two shelves for drinks.
The 6.8 cubic foot freezer compartment is big enough to store a lot frozen food items. It also has an open drawer that lets you access the food you need without having to open the entire compartment. The freezer also has an ice-cream bin style compartment for storing small items as well as a large capacity storage drawer to store bulkier frozen foods. The drawer can be locked by using a password to ensure that unwanted guests are kept out. It also has an LED that lets you see what's in it at an instant. The freezer can also monitor the energy consumption and help you lower your power bill using the SmartThings Energy Mode.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
French door refrigerators provide a clean appearance to any kitchen and they are suitable for different sizes of rooms. If you're looking for the convenience of this style without the extra height, a counter-depth fridge is the best option. We've tried a variety of them, and this Frigidaire model has earned a high score in our ratings for its low cost and thoughtful features, such as an adjustable temperature drawer.
However, it has a few nagging problems. Our tests show that the FGHB2866PF warms up quite some in the freezer, and it can be uncomfortable warm in the fridge's interior shelving. That's reflected in our heat maps, which show how much the internal temperatures vary from minute to minute. The butter bin in the orange area at the top right is especially warm during our test period. It might not seem to be a problem initially however, the fridge spends most of its time above 32 degrees.
It's also worth noting that the FGHB2866PF isn't an Energy Star-certified model. This could be a consideration for certain buyers. However, the main issue is that it's not a great refrigerator, and the absence of advanced features and a sturdy construction makes it difficult to recommend over better options in this price range.
This Frigidaire fridge is similar to the stainless steel model you may see in your local appliance store. It's a good choice with a brushed finish that looks great and is resistant to streaks. However it's not offering much to differentiate itself from competitors which are more feature-rich and more affordable.
If you're seeking a counter-depth French door fridge but don't want to spend a lot of money, the FGHC2331PF could be worth a look. It's got enough storage to meet the requirements of the majority of families and does a good job keeping food fresh. And even if it isn't an energy-efficient model, it won't even come close to costing the same amount as our top-rated models do.
